Two and a half hours west: an 18th-century white-and-blue medina on a windy Atlantic headland. Seafood off the grill, gulls the size of kites, and a breeze the city never has.

A thousand-year-old grid of covered lanes: leather at the Bab Debbagh, lamps in the brass souk, the spice row at golden hour. Your driver drops you at the gate and collects you where the alleys end.
